Rotating Biological Contactor Method –(RBC) working principal:
The system includes plastic (polyethylene or polyproplene) disks attached to a steel mill rotating at low-speed with 40% of it being immersed in the waste water at any time. While the shaft is rotating, the bacteria sticks onto the plastic disks creating a biological sludge. Once the disks cycle out of the water these bacteria meet with air and feed with oxygen. Then the alive bacteria start to oxidize and consume one another decreasing the amount of bacteria in the water. Treated waste water and sludge are the products of this process.

The systems operate odorless, without any disturbing noises and they are highly adaptive to changing loads. They are also highly reliable at low temperatures. The treated water is at European Standards and can be used for irrigation purposes after disinfection with UV. Nitrification, denitrification and phospour removal requires small effort and very common in EU countries.
